At Guild Living, we are striving to revolutionise the way we age in the UK. We are stepping away from the traditional retirement mould and developing unique, purposefully-designed communities in vibrant urban environments. Over the next 5 years, we aim to deliver over 3,000 new homes nationwide to meet the UK’s ageing population and urbanisation needs.
That’s why our second site, a 4.5-acre community, will be right in the heart of Bath. Situated on Bath’s riverside, our new location will deliver around 300 new age-appropriate homes in the city centre. Our Bath site aims to enhance connectivity for our members with a nursery, communal gardens and dining options all accessible to the local community.
Our prime location gives older people more choice in later life – an alternative to the out-of-town gated villages typically on offer – and will address the need for accommodation for the people in Bath. Combining beautiful architecture and interiors with groundbreaking and academically-accredited wellness programmes and activities, our communities will support happy and healthy ageing, enabling members to live their best later lives. Our members will also have access to a wellness centre, as well as a roof terrace, café and bar, library, and restaurant. Many of these features will also be open to the wider public, to encourage cross-generational interaction and socialising.
In response to the health care crisis, Guild living will offer care for those in the third age if and when needed. We will offer Residences, Care Residences and Care Suites to suit the individual needs of the third age. Our later living communities will also create new jobs in spaces such as childcare, management, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
